Large-fruited garden strawberry "Zarya".
An early-ripening variety of large-fruited garden strawberries: it is distinguished by its plasticity to weather conditions and is insensitive to changes in daylight hours.
Forms compact bush 20-25 cm. Peduncles are located at the level of the leaves or below. Inflorescences are spreading, multi-flowered. The berries are medium-sized (weighing 16-18 g), regular ovoid or round-conical in shape, leveled. The skin is bright red and shiny. The pulp is light red, medium density, aromatic. It has a pleasant sweet and sour taste. Can be grown as a decorative pot crop.
Productivity of the variety: 1.2 kg/m2.
AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING.
Sowing is carried out in February - March on the surface of slightly compacted and moistened soil.
Preparing the soil mixture: 3 parts sand mixed with 5 parts humus. The humus should be crumbly. The mixture of seeds and sand should be carefully placed on the resulting surface. It is necessary to ensure that the seeds do not fall into the depths. Shoots can appear within 30 days, so to speed up seed germination, the container with the crops should be covered with glass and placed on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator at a temperature of +5+7°C for 2-3 days. Then transfer to room conditions and keep at a temperature of + 22 + 25 ° C for germination. In the phase of 2-3 true leaves, the seedlings are planted in separate pots and the temperature is reduced to +14+16°C. After the plants have a true leaf, they can be planted in the ground, with a distance between rows of 25-30 cm, between plants 15-20 cm. Further care consists of weeding, loosening, watering, fertilizing and protection from pests and diseases.

Remontant Strawberry.

* Harvesting garden strawberries.
There are many ways to stock up on berries for future use. But, unfortunately, with long-term pasteurization of compotes, most of the vitamins contained in the berries are destroyed.
The least losses occur with rapid, almost instantaneous pasteurization, when the berries are exposed to high temperatures for only 5-19 seconds.
Without losing their valuable properties, berries processed in this way can be stored for more than a year.
This is done like this: bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. At the same time, boil the sugar syrup. In another dish, canning jars are heated.
The berries, placed in a colander, are dipped into boiling water, poured into a hot jar, poured with boiling syrup and immediately rolled up.
